HISTORY

There were two dams and two reservoirs just above the Felin Fawr sheds. Pipes from the upper dam fed the huge main wheel. This wheel can be found between the sheds within a wire cage, and is so huge that it is hard to see down to the hub let alone the bottom of it. Its neglect is understandeable because its repair and renovation would be very expensive, but it is certainly comparable to the huge wheel in the Llanberis museum.

The lower reservoir and dam fed the apprentices' shed through separate pipes. Some of the cast iron pipes can still be seen, but even now are disappearing and endangered. The lower dam was basically removed and the existing remnant put in place many years ago.
